On each side are two masonry spans built with the attention to detail and harmonising well with the landscape and with the main part of the bridge which is a double Warren truss topped by a crisp smaller lattice railing. It is 445 yards long with a height of 145 feet 6 inches and a curvature of 763 yards. Six of the piers go into the ground with no footwork, but the two on the river banks are set on large plinths. [1]
